Behind every finished piece of Prime Woodwork millwork is a facility most clients never see: our production shop in Bogota, New Jersey, where design becomes reality. Unlike companies that outsource fabrication to third-party shops, we manufacture architectural millwork New Jersey clients rely on entirely in-house — from the first CNC cut to the final hand-applied finish.
This matters more than it might seem. When design, fabrication, and finishing all happen under one roof, tolerances stay tighter, quality control is constant, and there’s no gap between what was designed and what gets built. Our team combines computer-guided precision — CNC cutting for complex joinery and consistent dimensions — with traditional hand-finishing techniques that machines simply can’t replicate: sanding, staining, and detailing that give each piece its final character.
The result is millwork built to the standards required by Manhattan’s most demanding residential and commercial interiors, manufactured just across the river in New Jersey. This article walks through what actually happens inside our shop, and answers the questions we hear most from clients and contractors curious about our process.
Manufacturing everything in-house — rather than outsourcing to third-party shops — means tighter quality control, faster problem-solving, and full accountability from design through installation.
Every project moves through the same disciplined process in our shop: CNC fabrication for precision, hand-finishing for craftsmanship, and final quality checks before anything leaves our facility for installation.
Operating from New Jersey gives us the space needed for a full production shop — CNC equipment, finishing areas, and material storage — that isn’t practical to maintain within Manhattan itself, while still keeping us close enough for efficient delivery and installation across NYC.
Our shop combines CNC machinery for precise cutting and joinery with traditional hand tools and finishing techniques. This combination allows us to achieve both the accuracy of computer-guided fabrication and the character of hand-applied finishes.
Everything — design support, CNC fabrication, hand-finishing, and assembly — is handled in-house by our own team. We don’t subcontract fabrication to third-party shops, which allows us to maintain consistent quality control from start to finish.
Yes. Our facility also functions as our showroom, and clients can visit by appointment to see materials, finishes, and even parts of the fabrication process in person.
We work with a range of hardwoods, veneers, laminates, and solid surface materials, selected based on each project’s design, budget, and durability requirements.
Every piece is checked against the approved shop drawings at multiple stages — after fabrication, after finishing, and again before it leaves our facility — to catch any inconsistencies before installation day.
Yes. Our shop produces everything from single residential pieces, like custom closets and kitchen cabinetry, to large-scale commercial millwork, including reception desks, wall paneling, and built-ins.
Because our shop is a short distance from Manhattan, we’re able to coordinate delivery and installation efficiently, without the delays that can come from working with fabricators located much farther away.
